Tonight is the 2016-2017 Miss Universe Pageant with 86 contestants competing to win the crown. Each of them is already a pageant winner and the top 12 women will be revealed at the beginning of the competition. Was Liberia represented?
Words filtering from Manila, Philippine indicate that Liberia was not represented this year. The Liberian Lone Star and Stripes were not part of the 86 initial contestants that paraded with their national colors. Among Sub-Sahara Africa, were Kenya, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Congo, Namibia, and few others. Following the first round elimination process, the remaining contestants will then go through the judging process, competing in four categories - swimwear, eveningwear, interview questions and the final look. Steve Harvey will host the competition and he will probably be double-checking the winner results since last year he made a major mistake, announcing the wrong winner.
Model Ashley Graham will be the backstage correspondent and the judges range from former pageant winners to a reality star, to a fashion editor. Last year, Presenter Steve Harvey hurled a major blunder that reverted the crown from one contestant to another.
